Drawer Boxes

yes, I bought some of these.  I needed some access to my comics so I said quot;what the the f*amp;kquot; and got 5 of them.  a set. a little impressed.  but then if you buy anything new it looks nice.  the boxes themselves, I think is the same lenght of a regular long white box.  there are 2 pieces to the shell.
so far I only have 2 high and 2 across.  guys, if you buy them, make sure you have room.  that was my problem.  I have the boxes in closets and I can put
them longwise.  that defeated the purpose, if I wanted to look at some I still had to move them.  and what I meant by room, was like a wall so all the boxes is facing you. I think I'm going to get more though.

I am most curious to know how sturdy they are. I have a room where I can set them up like you describe but haven't decided if I will get some.

they are pretty sturdy though I still don't understand how any shell, no matter how strong it claims, that is on the bottom can hold all that weight on it and have the comics out!!  they claim that you can go to as much as 5 high and pull out the quot;drawerquot; and the shell will support it.  we're talking about 4 more long boxes full of comics.  no.  the shell doesn't even have a metal frame.  I'm thinking about 3-4 high is cool.

I just got about 30 of these, to transfer all my collection over to, but I haven't had time to do it yet.  We did, however, just use these at my friend's store, for his back-issues, and they're stacked 5 high, and seem completely sturdy.  They're actually pretty amazing, and save TONS of space.   I'm really looking forward to getting my collection moved over.  I'll take some pics when I do, and post them here.

The only caveat is that however high you stack them (and for most people, 5 is going to be the max, since that's about 6' high), you need to put something over the top in order to pull the boxes out, or else it will, of course, tip.  (I'm planning on putting a 1/2 plywood board on top, and then storing my quot;currentquot; comics (pre-sorting) up there.)  But I can pull a box easily out of the bottom row of a stack five high.  And I can pull out the box in the second row, too, and let it hang half-out of the shell, and it's supported.

All in all, I'm extremely impressed with the system.

Teague, I seen a picture of this person's comic collection and I think it's more than 5 high.  I agree that it needs support so that it won't tip over.  but right now I don't have the proper space to fix them up the way they should be.  but like I said before,
I don't understand how the bottom shell can hold all that weight with the drawer out.
and since I can't stack them properly, I won't attempt this.  I wish I had somewhere to use them but my wall is currently being used for my display case for my Bowens.  LOL.

I tried getting these, but the company did not respond back to my e-mail. That was over a month 1/2 ago.

Hmm...you should try again.  I had a good correspondence with the owner, and he was really helpful.

Hey Teague,
All I asked was if they would ship to Canada?
As for e-mailing again, I doubt I will. The way I see it, if they cannot respond back to my simple e-mail then they do not need my business. Which is really sad because I was very interested, But not anymore.

I have no idea what was up with their e-mail, but I will say that the shipping probably would have been pretty pricey to Canada.  The sturdiness of the design here comes at the cost of a lot of heavy-duty cardboard.  There are three pieces to each box, the largest of which is 5' by about 3' or so.

I lucked out on that end, because the company is right here in Denver.  So we didn't have to pay for shipping at all.  You're probably better off trying to buy them from a retailer up where you are, rather than getting them shipped directly.
