Campaign to get the Good, Bad and Ugly reviews back something, posting, reviews, reading

Nothing used to perk me up more than reading the Mighty Reviews and then B_C's own Good, Bad and Ugly reviews.

I think it's high time Mikey brought back the reviews. The comments on the 'Mighty' have dropped a little lately - I'm as guilty as reading and not posting as anyone, so I shoulder some of the responsibility myself, something I'm actively trying to rectify too.

I think seing these two sets of reviews made me comment, as I loved seing them side by side.

I'm sure the Mighty Reviewers would agree that they'd love to see these back as well - competition is best for stellar results!

I agree--I always liked those reviews!  

For the record, by the way, I stopped commenting on the reviews because by the time I read them, they're way old.  I get my comics a few weeks after they come out now (getting them through an online retailer), so in order to avoid spoilers, I can't read the Mighty Reviews fresh.

I still think we need to comment, even if we are late. Joe Keith Sam and the irregulars (  ) work hard to produce these, and I feel ashamed that I'm not commenting and debating like I used to.

Agreed. My respect for the Reviewers has definitely gone up a notch. I'm guest-reviewing for The Frighty Reviews this month and spent a lot of time and hours writing and researching the three I submitted. I've only received feedback from one person and he was a reviewer! I'm not complaining, they were fun to write, but feedback for the reviewers hard work, I now know 1st hand, while not required, is truly welcomed.

Mike, the fans want more, so give it to 'em!!!

I doff my cap to Sammy, wktf, kdawg and Bats who -past and present - have given up their time on a weekly basis to review comics for no gain whatsoever. I know comments are what makes the effort worthwhile, so I encourage everyone to join the weekly debate whenever possible. Even the slow kids like Teague.

Wow.  First, thanks for all the kind words about The Mighty Reviews!  What can I say but to corroborate that commentary in the Mighty Reviews thread about the books and our reviews really do make doing the hours (really, it is hours) of work each Wednesday night truly worthwhile.

Second, as to the topic of this post, I couldn't agree more that I'd love to see b_c's Good, Bad, Ugly reviews back up.  I don't see it as much a competition, as Rich mentioned, but more another person who can add reviews about still more books to provide, combining the two sets and comprising four people overall, even more reviews of more comics on a weekly basis.

That said, and at the risk of maybe inappropriately speaking for Mike, Mike's said publicly that he's drastically cut back on the books he's been buying (like a few others who've commented the same thing) and may not be in a position to be able to author many reviews.

Mike knows he's got an open invitation from us Mighty Reviewers to contribute to our reviews any time he wants and can, as he's done on occasion.  Of course, alternatively, if Mike can chime in with his own Good/Bad/Ugly thread whenever he can, that'd be great too.

Regardless, please do offer as much commentary about the reviews as you can.  The numbers have dropped off a bit (the views still are in the 100s, so I'm encouraged by that), but all the dialogue is the equivalent of a salary for all the reviewers!
