I Just got back from Toyfair
Well I just got back from Toyfair at the javits center in NYC. Pretty cool show. Spent a lot of time at the Sideshow booth. Heres my opinion of the products.
The Hulk vs Spiderman diorama: the mass of this thing is amazing. One of the largest statues I have ever seen.
Iron Man statue, I was not impressed with the pics of this but after seeing it in person I can say without exageration that it is EASILY ONE OF THE NICEST STATUES I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
Spiderman and Wolverine statues. Both look excellent and Bowen has some serious competion on his hands. The statues are large and the paint jobs and sculpting are top notch. Some of Spideys costume is real fabric. they did a fantastic job with him. He looks perfect next to the Green Goblin.
Sideshows new line of 12 inch marvel dolls. Overpriced at $120 retail and not that impressive.
Captain America's shield and mask: Very cool, the shield is large and in scale with Thors hammer. Priced at $80.00
Lurtz and Frodo 1/4 scale statues: both look great and are in scale with each other. Very impressive.
The Legolas 12 inch doll is absolutely killer. I have a full pic but dont know how to attach it.
Alien Warrior full sized bust: man, what an insanely impressive piece. Awesome to say the least
John Wayne statue: not my cup of tea but very very nice
Jaws statue:Absolutely great looking. Good price also. It is 30 inches in length and looks to have some nice solid weight to it. Its supposed to be an exact replica of the movie prop. Its really nice and looks like a lot more than just a shark statue. I think retail is $250
Creature from Tremors: kind of a stupid pose and looks weak all around. No big deal at all
Dragons head bust from reign of fire: Again not my cup of tea but really a fantastic looking piece.
Terminator 1/2 scale statue: priced at $2000, its an insanely nice piece but the price tag is killer
Terminator dolls: cool but no big deal
Star wars 12 inch dolls retty cool but not my thing
Jigsaw Puppet: A very nice piece. Something I really want but they are insane with a high price tag at $220. Its just not worth it.
Predator kits: These are fully painted and require minimal assembly. A great looking piece and the price is more than fair for what your getting
Star wars semi deformed figures:complete crap
Here is a list of stuff we have all seen previews of but I havent seen in person until today:
Full sized Predator: Thank god I ordered this piece. Awesome
Darth Vader : Ditto
Grievous: Ditto
Legolas and gimli on steed: Great statue
Aragorn on steed: great statue
Kong armature: Something I thought was an overpriced piece of crap. I still think its overpriced but it looks great in person. I still dont see the reason for the $500 price tag. Its very basic and simple.
All star wars statues: I like villians but they are all good looking statues.
I only took a few pics but if I can get them up I will
Please describe the Jaws piece in detail!
pics?
Man, I've got a bunch of questions for you. I'll start off easy.
How much are they charging for the Jaws maquette?
Is it a full statue of the whole thing, and what does the base look like?
Jaws is about 18 inches long. Full body. Nice, thick and appears to have good weight to him. About 15lbs. retail is $250 for him. He is more mounted than resting on a base. It gives the illusion of him floating in water. Very impressive

Sideshows new line of 12 inch marvel dolls. Overpriced at $120 retail and not that impressive.
Keep in mind these have been around awhile from Medicom...
$250 retail?!!! Nice! I was thinking $400-$500.
The price is solid, she told me my dealer price is $174.00. I ordered 5 on the spot. Deadly piece
Bah, guess I'm not getting the jigsaw puppet.Oh well.
Anything on the exclusive Wolverine? I would like to know what it is before I order tomorrow. |
